CUTE
Hallelujah, holy, holy
God Almighty, the great I AM
Who is worthy, none beside Thee
God Almighty, the great I AM
Today Daniel briefly spoke about a hipster wearing lipstick he met after preaching in Brooklyn last sunday. Daniel had just finished the service in Brooklyn when this young man came up to speak with him, although he said nothing. He stood there, tears in his eyes, simply looking at our pastor. Daniel said that he knew then the power of tongues; the ability it had to convey words from the tears in a young adults eyes, to say one thing and have it heard by someone else completely differently, but in just the right way. I sat in the pew and looked at my pants- tracing the zig-zag patterned slacks I wore every now and then. I thanked God for the words that I’ve heard every day from the people that I love, and the words that nobody could ever convey with speech. Sometimes tongues isn’t presented in a literally spoken manner, but it is much rather something that the startling tears of a young adult, or the reassuring good morning smile after a long night can say more adequately.
